I wonder if you switch to the two year subscription to save money on the first two years over continuing the support plan, will you then loose your old perpetual licenses from your account because you are now renting the latest version. And now you may not be able to reinstate if you let your support lapse from what other posts are saying. So 480.00 total for my renewals after discount and last year was 400 for the two. Not only do I have to renew ultimate for 400 but now the regular has doubled in price of which I also have a license. I have not called support in years and what did we get last year, support for Mojave, plugin rentals, voice rentals and some sound effects. But they were kind enough to refund my credit card the difference after I asked / begged, which I have to say i was surprised they did. Last year I almost missed the discount because my renewal is not till January. Is this only for subscriptions or also for support plans. However,If you turn on the mouse acceleration, the movement of the crosshair screen will then be directly related to the speed with which you move your mouse. With mouse acceleration is turned off, the ratio between the movement of the mouse and the crosshair will be 1:1, meaning your crosshair will move proportionally to the distance you moved your mouse. Mouse acceleration affects the movement of the crosshair on screen. Decreasing it further will lower the zoom movement speed which in actual is already slower than the normal crosshair movement. It’s important to try out different sensitivities to see what works for you, but 1.0 seems to be the gold standard. Most players have theirs set to 1.0, except for “Niko”, who has his at 0.8, this means that he wants a slightly slower zoom. Zoom sensitivity is a measure of how fast the in-game zoom happens. A few decimals up or down might be required to reach an optimal sensitivity. You just need to pick the most appropriate in-game sensitivity along with other relevant settings such as windows sensitivity or DPI and start practicing on it. However, as a measure of the speed at which the mouse pointer moves, it’s all about a matter of preference - just look at “coldzera”’s relatively low setting. Many players find more success with ultra-high sensitivity settings, even as high as 5.0. The professionals featured here range from 1.1 (“coldzera”) to 2.5 (“ScreaM”). In-game sensitivity is the setting used within CS:GO. This setting suits him well with his higher in-game sensitivity, below, and gives him better control. “ScreaM”’s setting makes the OS modify the mouse input so that at 5, the mouse pointer speed moves at 0.75 times the default setting. Therefore, the default setting is used by many professional gamers in competition. Windows sensitivity is the speed that the operating system moves the cursor by one pixel. Every player on this list has a Windows sensitivity setting of 6, except “ScreaM” who has it set at 5. Here’s where things get a little more complicated. But many will tell you that the USB rate, while it differs from mouse to mouse, doesn’t actually matter all that much when it comes to augmenting your skills. It tends to use a tiny bit more of the CPU than the 500 setting. The 1000 setting sends the computer a more accurate reading of the actual position of the mouse. You see two different settings represented here: 5. USB rate is simply the rate at which a mouse sends data to a computer. And, you will find this to be true for the other settings described here. It all depends on the personal preference. Making it a little hard to control with the sudden change in the cursor movement. But when you open the menu for buying or team selection or for game settings, the cursor movement becomes accelerated. When you are in-game, the sensitivity works fine. If the higher DPI with low in-game sensitivity increases the accuracy, then why the professional players don’t use a much higher DPI? The answer is simple. Here we encounter another common question. For zooming purposes use “fov_cs_debug” in the console, placing “1” as a value will zoom in and “0” will zoom out. You can see the difference by testing it yourself by zooming in on the in-game screen. However, with a higher DPI and lower in-game sensitivity, the jitters don’t happen. These are not even noticeable during the play. The commonly known difference is that with a 400 DPI and an increased in-game sensitivity, there are minor jitters in your crosshair during movement. Then where is the difference? Why would “coldzera” differ from the native 400 DPI? You’ll notice that every professional gamer on this list has a DPI at or near 400, except “coldzera” (his DPI is 800).Ī 400 DPI with an in-game sensitivity of 2.2 is equal to 800 DPI with an in-game sensitivity of 1.1. In simple words, DPI is a measure of the distance your mouse cursor moves relative to the distance your actual physical mouse moves. You can check complete setting details of your favorite CS:GO player or more on . Now, let’s look at what each of these actually signifies. Looking for a new turntable? Here are the best record players you can buy. For those in the market for a deck costing less than half a grand, the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo is a must listen. What shouldn’t be up for question, however, is whether you give it a spin for yourself. Whether or not the Debut Carbon Evo is the best record player for you might be decided by whether you prefer its fuller, more relaxed character or the more spritely and lean alternative of its main competitor. The performance might not be quite as energetic or as clean, but it is no less attractive because of it. Acryl it RPM3 Carbon Acrylic platter for. The Classic EVO Alu Sub-Platter Aluminum sub-platter for The Classic. The Debut Carbon Evo keeps our attention fixed with its keen ear for emotion and just enough drive to punch out staccato rhythms. That easy listening, unfussy nature is invaluable for a turntable of this type, at this price, given the vast array of products with which it might be partnered, but again that would be next to worthless if the new Debut lacked the ability to engage. Where competitors might beef up their sound in an attempt to disguise a lack of real insight, Pro-Ject here welcomes you to explore its vast sonic range, proving its aptitude for making a deck that is both easy to listen to and prepared for deeper, more analytical sessions. It is also partnered with a great deal of detail and texture. The company has long proven its ability to offer up a magnificently plush midrange, with vocals so often a particular treat when given so much warmth and held up by plenty of weight in the bass. I was always interested in doing the female version of a song. I always felt like a lot of times, like “We’re All Alone,” where a man sings and it’s one thing, but when a female sings it, it changes the whole perception of the song. I think because I had such a big hit with “Higher and Higher,” the record company felt like it was probably a good lead that I continue to cover other people’s songs. We’d just sit down and look into a group of songs and picked ten. I still keep it in my concerts, because it was such a very special part of my life.īack thirty, forty or fifty years ago, I honestly don’t remember how we decided. I knew it was being recorded for Mad Dogs and Englishmen. When I was singing the song, I felt like I would record it. But that was one of my first compositions, with Bonnie, of course. Bonnie has said, “Somewhere in my house, I’ve got the tape that we made that night when we wrote the song.” When the record came out, my name of course was not on it. Bonnie and I were writing the song and were pretty much finished with the chorus and part of the verses, and Delaney knocked on the door and came in. If you listen to the lyrics, you can tell that girls wrote that song. I sat down and said, “I’ve got this idea for a song.” I had mentioned it to Leon Russell and he said, “Yeah, it’s a good idea.” So, Bonnie and I started writing this song. After a gig one night, Bonnie and I were in my room. Well, I was one of the writers on that song. I panicked for a minute, and then the book was out and everything was fine. At the same time, right before the book came out, I just had a moment of “Oh my God, what have I done?” (laughs) Everybody’s going to know everything about me now. It was kind of cathartic to write the book. Also, just clear up some stories of things I knew people were interested in. Just jumping all over the place between people’s sessions. Karen Carpenter would be in the next studio. The Eagles would be recording down the street. Just being a part of a time when music was just so vibrant, and things were changing so fast. It was more to be able to talk about being in the music scene in the 70s in Los Angeles and in Memphis. Coolidge's husband was Kris Kristofferson. When I was writing the book with Michael Walker, I was trying to accomplish something, just getting the story of the first 30 years of my life, because it ends when Kris and I divorced. Her credits also expanded to "I Love You Phillip Morris" (2010) starring Jim Carrey. Coolidge continued to exercise her talent in the nineties through the 2010s, taking on a mix of projects like "The Native Americans" (TBS, 1994-95), "Joe Cocker: Have a Little Faith" and "Christmas in the Clouds" with Tim Vahle (2005). Coolidge's music was most recently used in the Juno Temple dramedy "Dirty Girl" (2011). Coolidge also created music for the action picture "The Bounty Hunter" (1989) with Robert Ginty. She also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" (1987-88), "The Calgary Olympic Holiday Special" (ABC, 1987-88) and "Dionne Warwick in London" (1987-88). She also contributed to "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" (1973), "Saturday Night Live" (NBC, 1975-) and "Splash" (1984). Coolidge worked on a variety of projects during her early entertainment career, including "El Triunfo de un Hombre Llamado Caballo" with Richard Harris (1982), "Free To Be.You And Me" (1974) starring Alan Alda and "Octopussy" (1983) starring Roger Moore. Actress-musician Rita Coolidge made a splash in Hollywood both on and off-screen. The 13 tasks are designed to assess a variety of cognitive abilities, broadly defined as non-social and social cognition. We further found significant genetic correlations between different dimensions of cognitive functioning, suggesting that the same genes may explain their variability.Ĭognitive performance was assessed on 13 tasks from the Primate Cognition Test Battery (PCTB) task originally developed by Herrmann and colleagues. We found that some but not all cognitive traits were significantly heritable in chimpanzees. Here, we utilized a modified Primate Cognitive Test Battery in conjunction with quantitative genetic analyses to examine whether cognitive performance is heritable in chimpanzees. Specifically, aside from early attempts to selectively breed for learning skills in rodents, studies examining the role that genetic factors might play in individual variation in cognitive abilities in nonhuman animals, particularly nonhuman primates, are scarce. This, in turn, has lead to a renewed interest in the role that social and biological factors might play in explaining individual and phylogenetic differences in cognition. A large body of research has now accumulated demonstrating a variety of cognitive abilities in nonhuman animals that challenge traditional behaviorist interpretations of performance. In contrast to human IQ, until recently, views of learning and cognition in animals have largely been dominated by the behaviorist school of thought, originally championed by Watson and Skinner. It has now become increasingly clear that IQ is heritable in humans but these effects can be modified by non-genetic mechanisms. The role that genes play in human intelligence or IQ has remained a point of significant scientific debate dating back to the time of Galton. I’m not sure if guns were underpowered or if the enemies were just bullet sponges, but it felt like I had to unload almost an entire clip into a low-level goon to put him down. It devolved into a hectic firefight in a matter of seconds. It’s possible this mission could’ve been handled stealthily with lethal precision, that wasn’t the case for our squad of three first-time players and a PR guy who’d probably played the mission twenty times that day. Would you rather bring a knife to a gunfight, or perhaps a bat?Īfter all the emphasis on this being a game about stealth and strategy and not going in guns blazing, the first mission we played had us shooting up a rival gang’s party to send a message to its ringleader, Hielo, played by Vanilla Ice. Did he… bring them from home, or pick them up outside? Meanwhile, other characters seem woefully unprepared, only packing a sidearm and a melee weapon. There’s something extremely funny to me about a cold-blooded hitman rolling up to a job in his black sharkskin suit, strapped with a Steyr AUG and a gold-plated Desert Eagle, but also carrying eight (8) small rocks which he can throw as distractions. X is “Devoted, Valiant, Rock Solid, Trained, Rock Solid, and Stout,” but he’s also “Tearful” and a “Bleeder.” Did you get all that? Okay, now imagine you’re parsing that information while your three squadmates are waiting for you to ready up so they can go steal cocaine and shoot people, already.Įach character also has a loadout consisting of two weapons and a special item. For example, Booth is “Resilient” and “Trained,” whereas Big Joey is “Vigorous” but also “Deficient.” Meanwhile, Mr. Each character has a list of distinct traits that presumably have some impact on gameplay. The diverse group of characters is fun, aesthetically, but the variety might be to the gameplay’s detriment. In the other modes, these crew members all have to be unlocked with money earned on previous jobs, but in Urban Legends, each job has a specific set of characters to choose from. Unlike Left 4 Dead’s lean arcade-like roster, Rockay City has players picking their character from a sizable rogues’ gallery of royalty-free goons, henchmen, crooks, ne’er-do-wells, rogues, and so on. Up to four players can play cooperatively, with bots available to pick up the slack. Much like Left 4 Dead, these six “mini-campaigns” consist of several unique missions interspersed with cutscenes to tell a loose story. The mode I previewed, Urban Legends, is the happy medium of the two. Those earn you quick cash to unlock new crew members, gear, or contracts. There’s also Crime Time, which consists of quick heists that can be played alone or cooperatively. There’s Baker’s Battle, the single-player campaign where players take control of Michael Madsen’s character Travis Baker and help him become the titular crime boss of the eponymous Rockay City. |
