Welcome to the Biggest Little Ski Company in the World. It’s about skiing, and bringing you the best skis for the best times. Believe us when we say it’s not about the money, and it never has been. We design them ourselves, we make them by hand in small batches, and we make them look like nothing else because everybody knows being different is cool. We make those decisions on the mountain, because we are skiers first, and we make skis for skiers-for you, for us, for our friends, for our families. The decision to make a new model or keep an old one isn’t made in an executive boardroom, staring at a projection of last year’s profit-and-loss statement. We don’t make skis like big companies do. The Moment Skis website? The result of an annual Red Bull and beer-fueled three-day bender involving our slave-driving, emotionally abusive VP, one annoyingly talented, black-leather-clad misanthrope of a graphic designer, and a brilliant, ruggedly handsome yet woefully underappreciated copywriter. We don’t have a board of directors, a savvy PR firm on retainer, or an R&D department. We have a showroom here in the shop, and if you’re in town you can come visit us anytime. That’s not a euphemism for being in a meeting, either-it means hands full, wrangling a 200-pound mold out of a press, deep in the CAD zone tweaking a ski design, or helping out a customer. Ring us up, and you’ll get one of three people: our founder, our vice president, or the next closest person to the phone because the first two have their hands full. Having a factory doesn’t mean we’re big-far from it. We operate our own factory in Reno, on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. But it’s rare that we meet anyone who knows the whole story. More often than not, you heard about us from someone who owns a pair, and if you’re really informed you might have learned we make skis in the USA. Depending on what you’ve read, heard, or seen, you might think we’re a big corporation with a huge factory somewhere in China (or was it Colorado? Croatia?), or maybe you think we’re just a couple of dudes running a garage operation in Tahoe. You may have seen our skis in a magazine, stacked up against other brands in an annual review, or maybe you just watched a YouTube segment with some grainy, homemade park footage. Equipped to rip with a 96-millimeter waist and the tenacious edge grip of Mullet Rocker, it’ll tear up groomers until your quads explode, but the beauty of. When you ask us what makes Moment different from other brands, we’re never sure where to start. Moment Tahoe The more that snow levels become unpredictable, the more the Tahoe makes sense in your quiver.
